I decided to return to education as a paraprofessional. After being gone from the school district for a year, I had forgotten how much work it really is and how rewarding each day can be. This has been a rough couple of days, as the students and I are trying to get to know each other. Special Education is such a challenging field. I love it, but it is not easy.
I am trying to use my time to learn and grow as a student in this program, and a future educator. I have been able to use this class and another class to "tryout" some of the ideas I have. I am very fortunate to be in a school that is eager to help me finish my education with as much knowledge and experience as possible. They constantly provide me with opportunities to use what I know, and question what I don't know. I plan to take the position I have been given and make the best out of it. I am not a certified teacher, but I have a lot of opportunities to teach.
